A very minor modification we have made is the addition of a hob cover over the cooker.  We ordered a bespoke cover made to our dimensions from Hob Covers Direct http://hobcover.co.uk/products.php to fit over our Techimpex Mariner 2 cooker.  It fits very well and provides us primarily with additional kitchen workspace when the cooker is not in use, plus a neat splash-back whilst cooking.
