One of our rear mud flaps was badly damaged in a tyre blow-out in Africa around a year ago (click here to see the full story).
At the time I made a temporary repair that last quite well, but it finally failed in Argentina when it was covered in heavy wet mud. I have therefore cut-off the other rear mud flap to match and made a couple of new ones from some heavy reinforced rubber matting that I found in a shop in Puerto Montt, Chile. To the matting I added a brace bar which is held back from rubbing on the tyre by a small chain.
